Educators say schools are the best starting points for integration matters

Schools are actively bringing local and foreign students together through a variety of activities, such as visits to hawker centres, and setting up buddy networks to help students feel more at home with one another.

During an integration symposium, educators agreed that the classroom setting is a natural starting point for integration because in working together foreign and local students can understand each other and their cultures better.

The recent inaugural Symposium on Integration in Schools was organised by the National Integration Working Group for Schools, a committee under the National Integration Council.
