In Singapore, it’s not all work and no time for your family. Work-life balance is a growing mantra here. Many companies have adopted flexible working hours. Some companies even go the extra mile to organise family days for their staff.
Singapore’s maternity leave entitlement of 12 weeks is comparable to other developed Asian nations. Singapore Citizens enjoy more family-friendly perks. Besides various forms of tax reliefs and rebates, mothers enjoy a one-time baby bonus per child and a special one-for-one matching of their child’s savings account.
Besides that, the Government has an initiative that encourages shops and restaurants to be more receptive to the needs of families and children.
Most of all, there are many childcare centres in Singapore. Some office buildings or companies even have in-house childcare centres. Moreover, numerous kindergartens and pre-schools are located in residential areas, making it a breeze for you to enrol your children for their classes. There is roughly one childcare centre every two square kilometre in Singapore.
