| Singapore boasts a world-class healthcare system. |
Singapore is largely considered to be Asia’s leading medical hub with 11 hospitals gaining the Joint Commission International (JCI) Endorsement - more than any other country in the world! The JCI seal of approvals means that Singapore hospitals are on par with some of the finest in the United States. A Canadian newspaper, The Star, recently published a glowing report about Singapore's healthcare system.
Singapore is also well-known for pioneering some of the most complicated surgeries. One example is the successful separation of a few pairs of Siamese twins. It is no wonder that over 400,000 international patients chose Singapore for medical treatment in 2006.
You can be assured of getting good medical attention in Singapore. The country has one doctor for every 647 persons. This is one of the best ratios in the region. Hongkong has 844 persons per doctor, while the ratio in Taiwan is 868 per doctor.
