Singapore was featured in a three-part TV travel series broadcast in China in March 2009. Now available online, you too can take a visual and virtual tour of the Lion City through these videos. Join the three travellers – Tiger and Wendy, and their daughter Enya – as they journey through the streets of Singapore and experience the many facets of this clean and green city.

Episode One: Diversity in Singapore
What is it like to live in a society of many races and cultures, with a thousand cultural activities in one bustling street? Follow nine-year-old Enya as she samples the wide range of local food at the popular Lau Pa Sat market, is received warmly by a local Malay family at their home, visits Hindu and Chinese temples, and dances through the streets of Chinatown by day and brightly-lit Orchard Road at night.

Episode Two: Clean and Green Singapore
Find out how Singapore earned its global reputation as a Garden City. Join Tiger and his family as they learn about the city’s latest infrastructural developments and advanced environmental protection and water conservation efforts at the Marina Barrage. Take in the great outdoors with the family as they paddle a kayak on the waters of MacRitchie Reservoir and build beautiful bottle-gardens at HortPark.

Episode Three: Live in Singapore
Professors by vocation, Tiger and Wendy explore Singapore’s education system at a high school to experience the various unique aspects of Singapore’s education system such as a bilingual curriculum as well as emphasis on co-curricular activities such as art, drama and dance. Follow Enya as she joins a ballet class and takes a peek into hostel life at the school. The family also chats with students at the city-campus of Singapore Management University and witnesses advanced research at the National University of Singapore involving race cars and smart robots. Also, discover the efficiency of Singapore’s transport system, browse the vast materials in the National Library and soak in the sun, sand and sea at East Coast Park.

    第三集: 安居新加坡
    身为教授,Tiger 和 Wendy 也对新加坡的双语教育系统很感兴趣,他们参观了一所当地高中,并对全面的课程安排,丰富的课外活动留下了深刻的印象。Enya 不仅与舞蹈社团的女孩们一起开心的跳起芭蕾,也和寄宿学校的国际学生们谈天说地。

    随后Tiger一家还造访了两所当地大学。在位于市区的新加坡管理大学,当地学生和他们热情交谈。在新加坡国立大学,他们参观了赛车和智能机器人的制作过程,先进的科研设施让他们赞不绝口。

    高效方便的公共交通系统,位于市中心的国家图书馆的丰富藏书,城市中心地带的独特风味都让他们印象深刻。

    傍晚时分,在微风习习的东海岸公园,Tiger, Wendy 和 Enya 一家在沙滩上享受海风轻拂,欣赏椰影摇曳,度过他们惬意的一天。
